#43 Proxmox KVM is nice.. 2025-01-10 01:01:35.879 +0000 UTC

Well after using Proxmox for years, I think I can finally give it a review. It's nice and sure beats eSXI, imo. I wish I knew how to get more performance out of KVM, though. It can be slow at times, slower than LXC, but it does offer substantially more security due to its isolated nature and with the help of VT-x I suppose, not to mention the isolated kernel, also nice. (Bear with me, this is my first review) Proxmox has a nice feature set, from migrations, to templates, to clustering to easily managing kVM hardware such as ram, cpucount, cpu flags, etc. It is also free which is a huge plus! Looking for alternatives. While Proxmox may be good for most, I have outgrown it and am currently seeking better alternatives. I may have found a good few, but I am waiting to try them out after I upgrade Venus (One of my machines, higher tier than my web machine Luna), with more ram, storage and cpus which are on the way! Soon to be 128gb, 28c 56t 2.4tb. After that I plan on getting up to 512gb ram, hopefully.
