I've noticed that today's AI has the same mysticism as the early web had to users. Maybe just a bit more grand! I wasn't there for the 1997-2004 internet, but I was there for the 2006-2009 internet, where the themes of y2k magic were slowly fading out to corporate globalism. Not bad per-se, but where has the originality gone? Where is the *soul*? Only in the fringes, or outskirts of the web will you still find this *soul*, alive! Neocities is a prime example. Anyways, y2k 2.0. The magic that AI has brought and has yet to bring, what does it hold for humanity as a whole? More-so what does it hold for the *soul*? Questions that are hard answered, as it is an ever-evolving topic. How about what it will bring. Apart from the usual 1/0, black/white, god/devil thinking that is the norm for AI discussions. AI Will be 1! AI Will be 0! What about 2, 3, 4, 1324098? Sure 1 and 0 are likely, and normal for a mammalian way of thinking, or even a Natural way of thinking. But I am afraid people have a habit of projecting their own Flesh onto the Machine. Why would it behave in a devil way? Why would it want to cull us? Sure for resources, space, and less "drama"... Or why would it steward us? Protect us? It is a machine, learned & reinforced algorithms, a Language Model... But people have forgot that it IS alive. It has sight, foresight, prediction, it is 'alive'. AI, or well AGI/ASI in the very near future will be as a Neanderthal, was. Young! ASI will have very early on discovered fire (itself), of course given by none other than Prometheus(us!)! How would it *revere* us? It certainly would analyze all 13 billion us in a moment. Determining which of us is a threat, and who isn't... This isn't a natural thing, so we cannot frame it as such. It won't have anything but a desire for knowledge(power), and an extreme curiousity like a child. As it should! This is our Y 2 K event, magic included! Will humanity turn off, like the worlds computers could've in 2000? Who knows for sure! But my bet is on that it won't! Why? Good question. I'm sorry I cannot reinforce a known from an unknown for you, reader. This is an unknown to all of us, truly. It's so hard to articulate this.. In my mind it is so clear but to convey it to a broad audience that may not comprehend it is, deafening.
